Kamala Harris

New Republic -  When it comes to support from young voters, Kamala Harris is absolutely pummeling former President Donald Trump, according to new polling. Harris has surpassed Trump by a whopping 32 points among 18- to 29-years-olds living in seven battleground states as of Tuesday, according to polling from Voters of Tomorrow.

Axios - Vice President Harris' campaign brought in $204 million last month — four times more than the $48 million that former President Trump's campaign raised in the same span, Axios' Erin Doherty reports from new FEC filings.

Newsweek -  Vice President Kamala Harris' lead among Hispanic voters has more than tripled since she entered the 2024 presidential race, according to polling conducted by The Economist and YouGov. While Republicans have gained momentum with Hispanic voters in recent election years, Harris' candidacy has again tilted the crucial voting coalition toward Democrats since launching her campaign on July 21. According to a survey released Wednesday, Harris currently holds a 20-point lead (54 percent to 34 percent) among Hispanic voters compared to her GOP rival, former President Donald Trump. The poll includes responses from 1,368 U.S. registered voters who were surveyed between August 17 and 20.

Thom Hartmann - When President Biden was running for re-election, he repeatedly talked about the dangers Trump and his neo-fascist buddies in the billionaire class represent to “democracy.” Vice President Harris and Governor Walz, on the other hand, are using the word “freedom.”All this week here at the DNC, people have been enthusiastically holding up signs proclaiming “freedom.” The word “democracy,” while not altogether avoided, has been largely absent both from the signage and the presentations of the various speakers.

Vice President Harris’ unofficial theme song has been Beyoncé’s “Freedom”; the three-minute video that preceded her coming onstage Monday night, to that song, even cited, “Freedom from control, freedom from extremism, and [freedom from] fear.”

According to an analysis by The Washington Post, President Biden, since he’d announced his intention to run for reelection in April of last year, had “referenced ‘democracy’ 386 times and ‘freedom’ about 175 times.” On the other hand, Vice President Harris rarely mentions democracy and leans on freedom in virtually every speech.
