Newsweek -  Superfoods, Inc., under the brand name Live it Up, recalled lots of its "Live it Up Super Greens" dietary supplement on January 15 because of potential Salmonella contamination, which has been linked to 12 hospitalizations at the time of publication. The company later updated the recall with additional distribution information, according to an announcement posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on January 20.

The FDA notice cites a risk of foodborne illness linked to Salmonella, which can cause "serious and sometimes fatal infections," particularly among young children, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems.
