Union membership encourages happiness
American Prospect - Recent research shows [that]
not only do those belonging to unions themselves lead happier lives
(controlling for other factors), but, far importantly, the overall rate
of union membership (union “density”) is strongly and positively
associated with overall levels of well-being. The connection between
unions and happiness is additionally supported by other scholars, such
as Patrick Flavin and Greg Shufledt, who similarly find that in the United States, members of unions are happier than otherwise similar non-members
