I still have a router, a 3/8 handheld drill, and a saber saw from that time. They're not in the best shape any more, but, like my 90yo Millers Falls #2 eggbeater drill, they were US-made and still do the job when called on.<br /><br />Today Craftsman-branded tools are made in China and Mexico, and are crap. Occasionally some buyer apparently has a conniption, because I was able this year to buy a half-decent set of Forstner bits, and a not-too-terrible set of small sockets. But in general it's a lost cause. I still also have some of the HSS drill bits I bought way back then, but my new set of bits was bought by mail, from a company that, almost alone, still makes them in the US.<br /><br />Sic transit gloria de Sears.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
