He also bombed Libya to smithereens and created another pool of potential fighters. And, as has been noted, winked as the Saudis filled the gap to fuel the insurgency (Just as they did with the Taliban in the Afghan conflict with the Soviet Union). No, Obama didn't start this fire but he has been putting it out with the same gasoline can as George Bush used. As unpalatable as it may seem the only sensible solution has always been to support Assad. Obama is just trapped in the same Neocon framework as Hillary and W. I doubt they know better and if they do they seem incapable of making cold, hard, practical decisions.
