A few thoughts for those looking for a presidential candidate

Sam Smith

Politics is not a religion in which your faith is being judged, but rather a pragmatic community matter based on consensus. It is okay to support someone who doesn't meet all your standards if they generally good and stand the best chance of winning. There is no lord of politics who won't forgive you.

Think of elections as choosing a battlefield not a candidate. I voted for Hillary Clinton not because I liked or respected her but because her election would have saved us from the current disaster.  Vote for a favorable battlefield.

Even good presidents are more responders than they are leaders.  They are elected because they reflect a majority of voters, not because they are way ahead of them.

Real change occurs between elections. If you want it, act now.  Elections are just a score card of how effective you were.

4). The American political system has become so hopelessly corrupt from top to bottom--to the point where even Bernie Sanders dare not question the Pentagon or the national security state--that there ARE no good potential presidential candidates.
