Two thirds of young Americans want a Democratic Congress

Harvard IOP - A new national poll of America’s 18- to 29-year-olds by Harvard’s Institute of Politics, located at the Kennedy School of Government, finds that two-thirds of young Americans (67%) are more fearful than hopeful about America’s future. Less than one year before the 2018 midterm elections, likely young American voters cite preference for Democratic control of Congress, 65% to 33%.

“American political institutions are at a tipping point,” said John Della Volpe, Polling Director at Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics. “Millennials are now the largest generation in the electorate. This poll and the Virginia election show that they are becoming more motivated -- and I believe the fear that exists today about our future will soon be turned into the fuel that will reform our government. The only question is whether this comes from inside or outside the traditional party structure.”

Two-thirds of young Americans back in 2008 supported the Democratic presidential candidate. And what did they get? Sold down the river.

Maybe the young Americans would prefer a Green Congress if the right folks did a poll ! Those right folks probably wouldn't be Harvard or Yale!

The "Green State of the Union" on Jan. 30 will feature commentary and Q&A with @DrJillStein and @AjamuBaraka

Democrats are now the party of the cave-in. I suspected as much while suffering through the antics of Harry Reed. Democrats are selected and paid (off) to put up token resistance then cave-in to the other side, which is really the same (corporate) side just not as disgustingly disguised.

After being in office and doing the bidding of their donors, politicians of all types are paid off by fat lecture fees for example, when out of office.

Refer to the Great Political Repair Manual and let's fix this; money out of politics and much much shorter election cycles, for a start.

Its like any addiction, we need to do the work ourselves. Start with cutting out any mainstream political news shows and that includes Rachel Maddow and Bill Maher.

The surgeons knife is the only way! This enables us to exercise better control over our daily experiences.

Mrs. (Mary Baker) Eddy counsels in Science and Health: "Stand porter at the door of thought. Admitting only such conclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, you will control yourself harmoniously."

This is especially true of mainstream TV which pollutes our consciousness with anything from meaningless drivel to outright violence and mis-truths. Can you understand what a regular diet of this thought-garbage is doing to your mental digestive system?

Culture is a spiral (because of the time component - not a circle) and they are always painting the Golden Gate Bridge... our work is always ongoing so get out the paint and brushes!

Cheers, Tom
