Think Progress - U.S. solar installations nearly doubled last year, increasing 95 percent over 2015’s installations, and adding 14,626 megawatts of photovoltaic electricity generation capacity to the U.S. grid, according to preliminary data from GTM Research and the Solar Energy Industries Association. All segments—residential, non-residential, and utility-scale—saw growth from 2015 to 2016.
