Poll finds Americans trust Trump more than media

Emerson College Polling - voters find the Trump administration to be more truthful than the news media. The Trump administration is considered truthful by 49% of voters, to 48% of voters who consider it untruthful. Meanwhile, the news media is considered untruthful by a 53%-majority of registered voters, to only 39% who find them truthful (a 14-point gap).

Are people really that stupid? The mainstream news media has plenty of problems with truth, and an ugly capitalist bias, but they actually seem to be doing a bit better of a job of reporting since Jan 20th, which has been a small relief. 45 on the other hand spews lies more often then truths. If 45s lips are moving, he's lying. 45 is a complete crock of shit and it's hard to believe anyone would be so gullible as to actually believe anything that comes out of him or his cronies.

I want to know more about this poll, what were the questions asked, where did they find this sample of voters, and what are the pollster's bias. They only polled 617 people, if the the pdf with the article is accurate, so it's hardly a comprehensive poll.

When ever I hear or read one of 45s lies, it's like nails on a chalk board, cats wailing in terror and pain, pounding jackhammers, and cement saws cutting sidewalks amplified through dozens of Marshall stacked amps turned up to 11, screaming, HE"S LYING AGAIN! I can't ignore or believe such blatant falsehoods. I'm just not capable of accepting such egregious lies.

It's going to be a long 4 years if the house and senate doesn't impeach and remove 45 soon. To me his disrespect of the judiciary, relationship with Putin, accepting money from foreign interests, conflicts of interest, using his office to promote his and his family's businesses, ect... looks like treason and a host of other Constitutional offenses, and 45 should be dealt with accordingly.

This poll is hard to square with the upswelling resistance. After all, even before Trumpian eruptions began, a majority of public voted for Clinton. Either the nonvoting segment is skewed, or this poll is. Those interested might want to explore a book titled 'Stealth Democracy,' that describes the narrow single-issue focus and general disinterest in politics of many Americans. It may be that simplistic versions of events are regarded as 'truthy' compared to more nuanced versions that require unfamiliar and burdensome thought to process.
