There were about 8 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. workforce in 2014, a number that didn't change significantly since the end of the Great Recession in 2009, according to the Pew Research Center. But as a share of the overall labor force, illegal immigrants have declined slightly from 2009 to 2014, from 5.2 percent to 5 percent.

..and they know these numbers exactly how? Are "illegal immigrants" all signing up and reporting to some database we haven't been told about?

What absolute rubbish! About as useful as the "unemployment" numbers compared to the 94 million? out of the workforce.

I remember as a child growing up listening to our media mocking the USSR's rosy 5-year economic plan numbers and Pravda's reporting. I should have known better to think it was any different here.
