Democratic platform committee goes full GOP lite

Common Dreams

During a 9-hour meeting in St. Louis, Missouri, members of the DNC's platform drafting committee voted down a number of measures proposed by Bernie Sanders surrogates that would have come out against the contentious Trans-Pacific Partnership, fracking, and the Israeli occupation of Palestine. At the same time, proposals to support a carbon tax, single payer healthcare, and a $15 minimum wage tied to inflation were also disregarded.

From The Secret Of Santa Vittoria:

Eh, in Santa Vittoria anything can happen!

If you have a pig with six ears and two bottoms, we say "Santa Vittoria, what do you expect?"

If Germans come here, we say the same thing.
If the democratic party isn't progressive, what else is new?

There has to be a better way!

Cheers, Tom

After Trump and the Brexit vote, one would think that the oligarchy might consider some compromises.

Even little ones?

I guess not. I guess it is going to take a lot more.

Michael Moore was right. People will look back at this age with wonder and amazement at how a wealthy got virtually everything that they could ask for and it wasn't enough for them. They still wanted to clean out the last few scraps that had been thrown to the working man.
