The Democrats making things worse
Robert Reich - The Sanders campaign had been hoping for a significant role at the
Democratic convention, but [Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chair of the DNC]
has picked 75 members of the convention’s key committees -- rules,
credentials and platform – and accepted only 3 of Bernie’s choices,
failing to acknowledge the proportion of the vote Bernie has won in the
primaries and caucuses. Negotiations with the DNC have failed to add any
additional Bernie picks to any of the standing committees. Worse yet,
she’s named as chairs Hillary backers known for their harsh criticism of
Bernie (among them Barnie Frank, as co-chair of the influential Rules
Committee)... How [can] Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the DNC be so
obtuse?"

And is anybody truly surprised?
The Clinton/former DLC machine plays a ruthless game, after a quarter century of DC experience Bernie should have expected as much. Any hopes that he'd at least be able to leverage positions at the convention were all lost at that first debate when Bernie soft-balled Madam Slick with his "We don't give a damn about your emails" comment. The good senator had to be either supremely naive or decidedly complicit to offer that one up. It was laid out then that Bernie was destined to be an impotent pushover.
And so now it plays out.
Such are the myriad disappointments for those of us who for many years believed in and supported the good senator from Vermont. This is not to say that, in retrospect, there were indicators to belie that faith. Nevertheless, the process is still painful to witness. His campaign, when objectively examined, was a series of inept blunders, missteps, and deeply flawed strategy.
In short, another Tad Devine performance.
Devine is the ultimate DC/party insider. He even figured predominantly in the creation of the so-called 'super delegates' scam. Work for years with one of the worlds most influential corporate law firms. His has been a career built upon promoting and advancing the transnational neoliberal corporate agenda. This, now the strategist of a 'populist' revolution?
Bernie touched the hearts of a lot of gullible young people, and in so doing inspired them to dare to dream. we cannot help but recall the words of Langston Hughes,"What happens to a dream deferred?" In validating the Democratic Party, and by extension the further perpetuation of the Reagan/Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama continuum, he has likely rendered those dreams into nightmares.
It's obvious that DWS and the DNC are kowtowing to the Queen of Chaos.
Bernie: Too little too late. He should have gone after her for her decades of blatant corruption, most notably the scandalous Clinton Foundation taking money for favors!
If he had, he could have won. Now its up to the FBI.
