Obama supports Israeli invasion of Gaza

Buzz Feed - President Barack Obama fully supported the Israeli Government's operations in Gaza, speaking at the joint press conference in Thailand, where he is on a state visit.
"There's no country on earth that would tolerate missiles raining down on its citizens from outside its borders," he said. "We are fully supportive of Israel's right to defend itself."
Obama said the rocket attacks were the "precipitating event" for the Israeli operation, which to date has been mostly limited to an aerial bombardment of Hamas government and military sites, but is threatening to become a ground operation.

"We are actively working with all the parties in the region to see if we can end those missiles being fired without further escalation of violence in the region," Obama said.

But Obama echoed Israeli leaders, saying any "serious" attempt to reach peace in the region begins "with no more missiles being fired into Israel's territory."

Ought not this apply universally?
So, are drones a different story?
Or, is this another one of those lawyerly convolutions ala Slick?
It all depends on what your definition of _____ is. (fill in blank accordingly)

Gee, thank Gawd we elected the peace / anti-war candidate in our elections.

Ok, everyone who voted for Obama, stand up and show the blood on your hands.

Obama really doesn't have any choice about supporting Israel. The left's anti-semitism of recent years, which is widely seen as an attempt to revive nazism, has very significantly increased support for Israel, which is much stronger now than it's ever been. In the recent election the Greens, the one party that supports Hamas' violent extremism, got a whopping 1/3 of 1 percent of the vote, directly as a result of the anti-semitism. Its lowest percentage ever. Support for Israel is now at at least 99% of the American public, and there simply is no way any American politician could possibly express support for the Palestinians. We all know the war is about anti-semitism. There's a very tiny but vocal group on the left who support violent extremism, but they no longer matter, and no one's paying attention to them. They can write all the articles they want, but at this point they're more a source of amusement than anything else. The American people, like the rest of the world, has long since concluded that the Palestinians can end their war anytime they want simply by recognizing Israel and ending their attacks. It's up to them. Make peace or continue to suffer. The world really doesn't care at this point.

4:23. you sure want to speak for a lot of people who don't agree with you. Show me an accurate poll that proves US citizens support for Israel is at 99%.

Israel's own behavior has been undermining support from the US populace for years. Personally I quit buying anything made in Israel years ago because of their repeated human rights abuses. I can't stop my tax money from going there, but I can damn well make sure my personal money doesn't.

Many people who voted for Obama did it simply because they didn't want the US raided like a Bain Capital acquisition, or wanted to preserve a woman's right to control her own body. Both Obama and Romney support wasting taxpayer money on Israel, so there wasn't much of a choice on that issue.
