Great thoughts of Bill Clinton

Ryan Lizza, New Yorker - Bill Clinton’s attacks [on Obama in 2008] hurt Hillary as much as they did Obama. . . .At a press conference in South Carolina the morning after Obama won the state, Bill Clinton seemed to dismiss the victory as a fluke of local demography. “Jesse Jackson won South Carolina in ’84 and ’88,” he said. “Jackson ran a good campaign. And Obama ran a good campaign here.” Tim Russert told me that, according to his sources, Bill Clinton, in an effort to secure an endorsement for Hillary from Ted Kennedy, said to Kennedy, “A few years ago, this guy would have been carrying our bags.”

It is worth noting the interesting overlap between the 'Great thoughts of Bill Clinton' and, what is reputed to be, the world's shortest lawyer story. Safely assuming that the aforementioned story resides well within the public domain, and, hoping to further elaborate upon the point we offer the following complete text: "Hello, he lied."

I'm not going to slam Clinton on the "carrying bags" remark. That comes from sports where rookies on the team are expected to do menial tasks for the veterans, which often includes carrying the vets bags when you're going to an away game. In that case he's implying that Obama is just a rookie in the political game, which really he was.
