Snooki paid more than Toni Morrison to appear at Rutgers

NewJersey, com - At Rutgers University, Snooki edges out Toni Morrison by a couple thousand dollars. Last month, Rutgers officials said they had booked Morrison — author of "Beloved," "Song of Solomon" and other novels — to speak in a 52,000-seat football stadium at commencement in May. She will be paid $30,000, marking the first time Rutgers has written a check for a graduation speaker.

Tonight, Rutgers students said they had also made a big-name booking. Snooki — the "Jersey Shore" star whose real name is Nicole Polizzi — appeared at two question-and-answer sessions at the Livingston Student Center in Piscataway. Her fee: $32,000

I guess this is the base reason why the majority of the US citizenry has no inclination on what is important anymore. When did a world respected woman is become less valuable then a self absorbed, self serving media whore? Americans are to busy caring about what celebs/ sports stars are doing, to each other, more then what their government is doing to them; even though government actions are what effects their the most tax increases, loss of social programs that We the People pay directly into, ect... In reality, something nether one knows anything about, they really dont care about those who fund their lives. Fortunately with the government official you can always get rid of them; with celebs, sometimes i guess you have to wait for them to do it themselves.
